Taking a Walk

Now that we're both out of school for the summer, Wesley and I have been going on a lot of walks. Here's how they usually play out:

Fight over which shoes to wear and whether or not he needs help putting them on. In the end, he always needs help.

Get off to a running start.

Check the cul-de-sac for Wesley's favorite cat, Uncle. If he's not outside, we move on.

Stop on the other side of the cul-de-sac to look for bugs in the bark.

When not satisfied with the number of bugs being found, move on to another part of the same yard. Again, stop and look for bugs.

Go on a major bug killing spree.

Get really serious about looking for bugs.

Finally leave the bugs, kicking and screaming.

Stop at every "basketball game" on the block.

Finally make it back home.

Total time to walk around the block once: anywhere between 30 minutes and an hour. We have fun though!

  1. Hahaha. I too, love Wesley walks, and all the deep exploring he does! There is a gray cat if you go the other direction, and around the corner about three houses. Wesley loves that one too, and that cat follows him. Once Wesley pushed him "to go back home" with his hand right under his tail. We had to wash his hands when we got home. Hahaha.

Hey, that outfit looks very cute on Mr. Wesley!

  2. I bought Wesley a child magnifying glass with a frog handle so he can take it on walks with him, and look at bugs up close. :)
