We had an uneventful drive the rest of the way to Disneyland, getting there in time for a late dinner and then off to bed. Our hotel room worked out perfectly--enough space, a view of the fireworks--and both boys slept well, which made the whole experience that much better.
The next morning, we were up early and ready to go!
Our first stop was birthday breakfast at Plaza Inn.
This is how Ethan reacted to Eeyore--
And then he did the same thing when Tigger stopped by--
Ethan really did not enjoy the whole character experience at all! Winnie the Pooh proved to be okay though, as long as Ethan was in Mommy's arms--
Wesley did much better at breakfast. He met both Chip and Dale--
Wesley was a good sport and posed for pictures whenever I asked during breakfast. Really, all he wanted to do was eat his yummy breakfast though!
Peter Pan stopped by for a lengthy chat. He had a lot of questions for Wesley!
After breakfast, we hit a few rides and Ethan napped in the stroller. Before too long, we had to head back to the hotel so these two peas-in-a-pod could do this--
After they recuperated, we headed back for some more fun! That night, we met Oma and Opa for dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. Ethan had fun playing peek-a-boo, but he doesn't always get his hands actually over his eyes!
More pictures from dinner--
Wesley's favorite part was the "Volcano" Oma and Opa ordered for his birthday dessert. We all shared, but I'm pretty sure Wesley ate about half all by himself. Since we were at Disneyland to celebrate both boys' birthdays, pretty much everything turned into a "birthday this" or "birthday that" experience. It was fun!
Wesley's second favorite part of dinner--"helping" Opa with his new phone. I know Wesley downloaded at least one game to play while we were there. It was probably his "birthday game." Hope you're keeping up with it, Opa! ;)
Wesley was pretty much attached to Opa at the hip. It was cute!
We spent the next day in both Disneyland and California Adventure. Cars Land was probably the highlight. The Cars ride was tons of fun, AND we found soft serve ice cream. Score!
Our last night there, we ate at The Blue Bayou restaurant. Both boys got special desserts for their birthdays. Wesley once again downed his pretty quickly. Ethan was nice enough to share his with the rest of us.
The next day, we drove home, with a pit stop in Fresno to have lunch with Blake's family and dessert with Nat and Steve. Tante Natalie is always good for some chocolate chip cookies!
What a fun trip! Happy Birthday, boys! And thanks for joining us for part of the trip, Oma and Opa. We sure had fun with you!
So fun to see your pictures! Looks like a great time! I especially love the picture of Ethan playing peek-a-boo!
ReplyDeleteFun pictures! Ditto what Natalie said.
